Dr. Van Leer is a post-doctoral therapist providing therapy to adults in person and virtually. She has experience with a variety of presenting concerns, including anxiety, depression, interpersonal relationship dynamics, self-esteem, life transitions, ADHD, OCD, and trauma. She has expertise working with clients from rural backgrounds and those in unhealthy relationships.
Dr. Van Leer believes in the importance of joining the client on their journey. She emphasizes building trust within the therapeutic relationship to create a safe space for the client to grow and take risks. Dr. Van Leer works from a client-centered lens, but tailors her therapeutic approach to the individual needs of the client. She encourages a collaborative therapeutic relationship.
Dr. Van Leer received her doctorate in Clinical Psychology from the Michigan School of Psychology, located in Farmington Hills, Michigan. She has experience in college counseling, non-profit center for sexual assault survivors, and community mental health.
